Registered Veterinary Technicians
Melanie is a native San Diegan. She as been part of the Mission Valley Pet Clinic family since 1998.
She graduated from UCSD with a Bachelor of Science degree in Animal Physiology and Neuroscience. Melanie has been the Head Registered Veterinary Technician for many years.
Melanie attends continuing education meetings regularly, and her knowledge of veterinary medicine has enhanced the lives and treatment of many patients. She has expertise in many areas, including dentistry, cytology, medicine, nutrition, and behavior.
Melanie discovered her love of animals at a young age and brought home every stray animal she could find. She has a three-toed box turtle named Catrina (poof-poof), a flame point named Josie and Jerry a golden retriever mix she adopted after he was abandoned at MVPC. Jerry and Melanie are now a certified therapy team!
Melanie enjoys working at MVPC where she can put her love for animals to good use. In her free time, Melanie enjoys hiking, traveling,and spending time at the beach.
Rosa was born in Barranquilla, Colombia. She has been living in the United States since 2008.
Rosa grew up in a family that was always involved in animal welfare. Her father is a veterinarian, and Rosa followed in his footsteps, staying in the veterinary field and becoming a registered veterinary technician. She graduated from the RVT program at Mesa College in 2012.
Rosa has also worked as an instructor in the RVT program teaching dentistry, radiology and anatomy. She enjoys working with dogs and cats and her favorite fields are dentistry, surgery and critical care. Rosa is a very caring individual and our patients enjoy her kind nature in addition to her technical expertise.
She and her boyfriend have 2 daughters, 3 dogs and a kitty.
Sarah joined Mission Valley Pet Clinic in 2003 as a receptionist. She took a brief absence in 2006 to travel but couldn't stay away long.
Sarah had planned to study writing and language but has since fallen in love with the veterinary field and decided to become a veterinary technician in 2010. She is now a Certified Veterinary Assistant.
Sarah and her husband have a large furry family consisting of a 4 year old Lab, Benson, who was rescued from Labrador Rescuers. They also have 4 cats, Masen (born to MVPC's Addie, when she ADDed to the population with 8 kittens), Henry, Zelda and Emmy.
Sarah is a native San Diegan who enjoys cooking, working on her home, traveling and spending time with her family and friends.
Sarah enjoys educating clients, learning and teaching about geriatric/preventative pet care and nutrition.
Eva is originally from Colorado and joined MVPC this year. She has lived in San Diego for more than a decade and recently graduated from San Diego Mesa College with a degree in Animal Health Technology. She will be taking her national board exams this fall, and will become a Registered Veterinary Technician.
Eva enjoys the beach and loves to surf and paddle board. She has 3 dogs and 1 cat. Her dogs love the beach too and can often be seen joining her in the surf.
Eva also volunteers with several San Diego and Mexico animal rescues.
Mandy grew up in San Diego. She received her associate of science degree in Veterinary Technology from Pima Medical Institute in 2014. Mandy worked at Sea World for eleven years. During the last four years at Sea World she worked as an aviculturist, cultivating a love for birds, especially flamingos and penguins. Although birds have a special place in her heart, her love of all animals drove her to a career at MVPC caring for cats and dogs.
Mandy is a mother of 2 boys. She also has a household of animals including 3 dogs, 1 cat, 2 guinea pigs and 1 iguana. Mandy enjoys spending time with her children, dancing, chocolate and pet sitting as she cannot have any more pets of her own
Melanie was born and raised in Imperial, California. In 2015, Melanie moved to San Diego to further her career as a veterinary technician.
Melanie graduated from Platt College in 2013 with an Associates of Science degree in Veterinary Technology and has been working in veterinary hospitals for the last few years. Melanie has two fur babies, a 7 year old Boston terrier named Bailey and a one and a half year old cat named Zero. In her spare time she loves spending time at the beach, hiking or visiting home to be with her family!
Sarah was born and raised in San Diego. She has been working as a veterinary assistant since 2008. Sarah is currently taking courses in order to obtain her RVT license. She has one dog, Lola, a rescue from the Baja Sanctuary in Tijuana, Mexico. Together they enjoy frequent outings to Fiesta Island and hiking all over San Diego! Sarah is interested in expanding her veterinary knowledge to include large animals such as horses, cows, pigs and goats!
MelissaClient Service Team
Melissa was born in Juneau, Alaska and grew up in Topeka Kansas. She moved to San Diego in 2015. Melissa started working at MVPC in March of 2017 and has already adopted a 13 year old orange tabby named Cole who was left at the clinic.
Melissa is attending Mesa College, and will be starting the Veterinary Technician program in 2019. She has been involved with animals since she was a little girl. Her family pets include dogs, cats, ferrets, rats and rabbits.
Previously Melissa was one of our kennel technicians and enjoyed caring for our boarding guests. Melissa enjoys playing soccer every week, running, hiking, traveling to visit family, and watching a good Netflix show.
AprilClient Service Team
April joined MVPC in December 2017. She has several years of experience working in a veterinary hospital and we are very happy to have her as part of our team.
April is originally from New Hampshire where she was an animal lover from birth. She is certified in therapeutic horseback riding and she volunteers her time to teach riding skills to people of all ages with disabilities.
April is married, and has 2 canine fur babies named Dixie and Lilly. In her spare time she enjoys hiking all over San Diego and going camping with her family. April’s goal is too use her skills In therapy horseback riding to help disabled Veterans.
A San Diego native, Jennifer grew up with over 30 rescued cats. Her parents were always saving abandoned, feral and stray animals in their neighborhood.
In college Jennifer studied philosophy, music, and cosmetology. In 2005, she took classes as a veterinary assistant and has stayed in the veterinary field ever since.
On her days off she enjoys spending time with her family. Fun things they like do include camping, road trips, amusement parks and roller-skating at a rink.
She has a rescued Doberman named Klaus von Count and 3 cats named Felix, Baron von Shush and Rx von Fuzzy Butt.
Jennifer joined MVPC in April 2018. From day one she knew this was the animal clinic that was meant for her.
Kathy Meagher has worked with Dr. Green for many years and came with her to Mission Valley Pet Clinic in 2002.
She was born in Ohio and graduated from Green Mountain College. She then studied at UC Berkeley before obtaining her teaching credential from SDSU. In 1982 she received her Registered Veterinary Technician License from Mesa College.
In addition to helping care for the animals, Kathy functions as the office manager of MVPC. She has two cats named OB and Max, and a chihuahua mix named PD. She also volunteers at Flying Paws Rescue.
In her free time she enjoys jogging, yoga, tai chi, kayaking, traveling and visiting her children and grandchildren.
Thom became part of the Mission Valley Pet Clinic Family in 2005. He was born in Chicago, Illinois, moved to Arkansas and attended the University of Arkansas for two years. He made the transition to the United States Navy, got an A.A. degree from City Colleges of Chicago, and retired after 20 years as a Petty Officer First Class Photographers Mate.
After retiring from the Navy, Thom tried his hand at various computer related jobs but eventually realized that his true ambition had to have something to do with animals. He worked at an upscale dog day play facility while completing a Regional Occupational Program (ROP) for Veterinary Receptionist.
Thom has one pet, a 14-year old black domestic short hair feline named Kattle but if you were to ask her, she would tell you she has a pet named Thom. His hobbies include: anything to do with Harry Potter, gardening, photography, reading science fiction, travel, watching everything on HGTV and Planet Green, and trying to be green.
Danielle is from Southern California and moved to San Diego four years ago. She is currently a senior at San Diego State University majoring in Biology with an emphasis in Zoology and a minor in Psychology. She is a member of the Pre-Veterinary Medical Association on campus and she plans to attend veterinary school after she graduates.
Danielle has always loved being surrounded by animals. She has volunteered with the San Diego County Animal shelter working with both dogs and cats. She has a one-year old miniature Australian Shepherd named Oakley. In her free time, Danielle enjoys going to the beach with her dog, traveling, and
Annette is a native San Diegan who joined Mission Valley Pet Clinic in 2018 as a kennel technician. She recently graduated from San Diego State University (SDSU) with a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology with an emphasis in Zoology and a Bachelor of Arts degree in Spanish. While at SDSU, she was the webmaster for the Pre-veterinary Medical Association club on campus. She also volunteered on Sunday mornings at Horses of Tir Na Nog, a horse sanctuary in Alpine. Annette has always enjoyed taking care of animals and has wanted to become a veterinarian. She is planning to travel to South Africa and Mexico this year where she will be doing volunteer work assisting veterinarians with their daily tasks. She plans to apply to veterinary school the following year.
Annette has two toy poodle mixes. One is a male named Coco and the other is a female named Lady. She also has a turtle named Michelangela and a few African cichlid fishes. In her free time, she enjoys taking her dogs to Fiesta Island, hiking, and binge watching Harry Potter and Lord of the Rings.
Cynthia is a San Francisco native who is majoring in Biology at San Diego State University. She is president of the Pre-Veterinary Medical Association and plans to attend veterinary school after completing her undergraduate studies. Cynthia is one of our kennel technicians who takes care of the dogs and cats that are boarding at Mission Valley Pet Clinic. She gives our guests lots of attention and they enjoy Cynthia’s sweet disposition.
Cynthia loves caring for animals. She has a ten-year-old Bichon named Bruce, whom she loves dearly. In her free time she enjoys running, trying new foods, and listening to music. Cynthia also likes learning more about photography and Photoshop.
Ester was born and raised in San Diego. She developed a passion for caring for animals after volunteering at the Chula Vista animal care facility. Ester is a junior at San Diego State University where she is a member of the pre-veterinary club. Ester would like to eventually become a veterinarian. Ester enjoys traveling to South Korea and hopes to travel there again in the future.
